Obituary Notice

Funeral services for Edgar J. Hopkins age 73 of Rainbow City will be held Friday April 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Noonday Christian Church with Rev. Bobby Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Hopkins passed away Monday April 9, 2012 at his residence.

Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife Diane Hopkins of Rainbow City; one daughter Trisha Hopkins of Birmingham; three sons Johnny (Renee) Hopkins of St. Augustine, Fl., Steve B. Hopkins and Steven T. Hopkins both of Rainbow City; two sisters Sandra Bradley of Wedowee and Linda Watkins of Carrollton, Ga. two grandchildren Alyssa Hopkins and Connor Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins was born May 19, 1938 the son of Jewel and Vera Amason Hopkins. He was retired as Director of Sales for Alabama By Products and a member of Noonday Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Friday April 13, 2012 from 6 till 8 PM. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
