Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Opal L. Wilson age 80 of Newell will be held Tuesday June 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Holcombe and Rev. David Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson passed away Saturday June 2, 2012 at Clay County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by two daughters Shirley (Larry) Hudgins of Tallapoosa, Ga. and Janice ( Junior) Wortham of Newell; one son Harold (Rebecca) Williamson of Altoona. five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith Williamson, Kenneth Williamson, Kevin Williamson, Mark Lacks, Dylan Lacks, Johnathon Wood, Andy Bailey and Randy Jennings.
Mrs. Wilson was born October 21, 1931 the daughter of Samuel and Willie Bell Painter. She was a self -employed homemaker and a member of Prospect Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Charles W. Williamson and Kayger Wilson, one son Allen Williamson and two brothers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Monday June 4 , 2012 from 5 till 8 PM.
