Obituary Notice
Funeral services for George Lewis Zimmer, Jr., age 64 of Woodland, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stephen Dedman officiating. Burial will follow in Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, June 6th.
Mr. Zimmer died, Sunday, June 3, 2012 at East Alabama Medical Center.
Mr. Zimmer is survived by two sons, George Lewis Zimmer, III of Woodland, Claude Jason Zimmer of Jacksonville; one sister, Laura (husband James) McElroy of Conyers, GA.
Mr. Zimmer was born February 1, 1948, the son of George Lewis Zimmer, Sr. and Vera Futrelle Zimmer. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Roanoke; had been a diesel mechanic for Atlanta Farmers Market. Mr. Zimmer is preceded in death by his wife, Louise Zimmer; his parents, two sisters, Eva Morris and Juanita Keenum.
