Obituary Notice Funeral services for, Lawson Earl Rollins, age 55, of Woodland, will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2012, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Graham and Rev. Jason Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland First Congregational Methodist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday, August 17th. Pallbearers will be Beau Rollins, Chris Smith, Seth Entrekin, Jake Entrekin, Kenny Rollins, Scott Rollins, Josh Rollins and Chad Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Lance Rollins, Don Rollins, Steve Rollins, Wade Rollins, Tyler Rollins, Mike Hope and John Entrekin. Special brothers in Christ, Revs Donald Spradlin, Gary Badswell, Vernon Willis, Thomas Cochran, Charles Dixion, and David McPherson. Mr. Rollins died, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Wedowee Hospital. Mr. Rollins is survived by his wife, Debra Smith Rollins; five brothers, Junior (wife Diane) Rollins of Woodland, Donnie (wife Joyce) Rollins of Woodland, Paul (wife Becky) Rollins of Woodland; Wayne (wife Charlotte) Smith of Woodland, Terry (wife Judy) Graham of Wedowee; two sisters, Linda (husband Tommy) Aikens, Rachel (husband Roy) Goosby; seven honorary grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Rollins was born, November 11, 1956, the son of Harvey and Helen Young Rollins. He was a member of Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church. Mr. Rollins was saved in January 1976, became a deacon at Highway Church in 1977, and called to preach the gospel and ordained September 3, 1981. His first pastorate was Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church, Bremen, GA from 1981 to 1987, next his pastored Woodville First Congregational Methodist Church in Texas from 1988 to 1989. The Lord laid it on his heart to establish a church in the Woodland area. On October 1990 he established Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church and was pastor there until 2005. Due to health problems he was unable to continue pastoring any longer. Mr. Rollins is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Helen Rollins, Calvin and Allie Ruth Smith; four brothers, Wayne, Hugh, Benny Ray and Willard Rollins; one sister, Libby Rollins, one niece Joni Rollins.
