Obituary Notice Graveside services for William Alford "Bill" Butler, Jr. age 82 of Anniston will be held Tuesday October 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Ray Rampy officiating at Bear Creek Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Butler passed away Sunday September 30, 2012 at NHC Assisted Living in Anniston. Mr. Butler is survived by his wife Nellie Rue Butler of Anniston; one daughter Sherry Jo (Aubrey) Shears of Anniston; one son Allan M. Butler of Anniston; three sisters Floyce Smith of Heflin, Josephine ( Joe Will) McGuire of Wedowee and Sara (Van) Gunter of Oneonta; one brother John M. (Marilyn) (daughter Janet) Butler of Tennessee; three grandchildren Stephanie (Thomas) Waites, Joshua Lamar (Hannah) Shears and William Jordan Shears; two great-grandchildren Ada Elizabeth Shears and Skyla Rhea Waites. Pallbearers will be Thomas waites, Joshua Lamar Shears, William Jordan Shears, Aubrey Shears, Tommy Dewey Pitts and Allan M. Butler. Mr. Butler was born January 3, 1930 the son of William Alford and nezzie Elizabeth Thomason Butler, Sr. He was a veteran and retired from the United States Air Force serving in the Vietnam War. He served in aircraft maintenance and as a flight training instructor. He was a Baptist by faith. He was survived in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Tuesday October 2, 2012 from 12 noon till 1 PM. The family would like to give a special thanks to Alacare Hospice and the nurses and aides at NHC Assisted Living for their great care.
