Funeral services for Sandra Bowen Christopher, age 73, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Keith Christopher officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery in Anniston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Mrs. Christopher passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Methodist Hospital/Stone Oak in San Antonio, Texas. Survivors include: three daughters, Melisa Gomez of San Antonio, TX, Janice Christopher of Woodland Park, CO, and Lynne Christopher of Wetumpka; two sons, Jeff Christopher of Wedowee and Sonny Christopher of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Hester of Roanoke, Sherry Bowen of Sharpsburg, GA, and Martha Jeter of Roanoke; and two brothers, Tony Bowen of McKinney, TX, and Hoyt Bowen, Jr., of Anniston. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Christopher was born on December 28, 1942, the daughter of Hoyt and Etha Mae Langley Bowen. She was a member of Lowell Methodist Church and worked for the State of Alabama. Mrs. Christopher was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Samuel Christopher.
