Funeral services for Nonnie Faye Wilder Huey, age 102, of Wedowee, will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016, at 11:00 AM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 25, 2016.
Mrs. Huey passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016, at her home.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeffie Beth McManus of Taylors, SC; two grandchildren; one sister, Mary Lou Huey of Wedowee; and her caregivers, Margaret Alsabrook, Sue Nell Boykin, Rhonda Stewart, Mary Williamson, and June Childs.
Pallbearers will be Heath Huey, Derrick Huey, Rob Kirby, Danny Rollins, Rhett Kirby, and John New.
A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Huey was born on February 10, 1914, the daughter of John W. and Ellen Elizabeth Hadley Wilder. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and taught for 40 years in the Randolph County School Systems. Mrs. Huey was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Lankford Huey.
