Obituary of Kenneth Messer

Funeral services for Kenneth Messer, age 68, of Daviston will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Beulah Christian Church with Bro. Douglas Kirk, Bro. Mickey Vaughn, and Bro. Ray Dunn officiating.  Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.

Mr. Messer passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Angela Smith of Daviston; one son, Kenny Messer (Christie) of Lafayette; and three grandchildren, Sturgis Messer, Savannah Messer, and Caden Messer.

Pallbearers will be Justin Smith, Dustin Smith, Caden Messer, Sturgis Messer, Ray Laney, and Mike Wellborn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Johnny Davis, Steve Daviston, Donald Daviston, Benford Daviston, Fred Hartsville, and Aaron Willoughby.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Messer was born on February 23, 1955, the son of Olin and Symirow Holloway Messer.  He was a member of Beulah Christian Church and worked as a truck driver.  Mr. Messer was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeremie Messer; one grandson, Holden Messer; and one brother, Terry Messer.

Memorials may be floral but the family would prefer donations to Ivy Creek Hospice.
