Donald “DD” Wilkerson, age 71, of Newell passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wilkerson of Newell; four sons, Donnie Carroll Wilkerson (Tina) of Madison, GA, David Ray Wilkerson (Lori) of Pigeon Forge, TN, Harmon Chase Wilkerson (Karen) of Newell, and Skylar Lee Wilkerson (Mary Lassell) of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Tennessee native, Mr. Wilkerson was born on August 8, 1951, the son of Hubert C. and Elijah Baggett Wilkerson. He was Christian by faith and worked in construction. Mr. Wilkerson enjoyed horses, parades, and growing produce and was known as “watermelon man.” He was preceded in death by his parents.
