Obituary of Jon H. Bailey

Funeral services for Jon Harston Bailey, age 67, will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, 12215 County Road 59, Woodland, Alabama. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM -- one hour prior to service. Benefield Funeral Home will be in charge of services.

Mr. Bailey, 67, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his home in Montevallo.

Pallbearers will be Andy Partridge, Michael Gamel, Bailey Eason, Matt Stroud, T. J. Stroud, and Adam Stroud.

He grew up in Childersburg, where he graduated from CHS in 1974. He attended Auburn University and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering in 1978.

Jon worked for Alabama Power Company for several years in both the Montgomery and Birmingham offices. He also worked at USI, C.A. Mauren, and most recently for Hazen and Sawyer. Jon was also active with the Alabama Junior Miss Pageant for several years.

Jon was preceded in death by his father, Victor H. Bailey. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Rollins Bailey of Woodland; daughter, Jennifer Bailey (Calera); son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Kaylee Bailey (Montevallo) and sister, Jane Stroud of Woodland.
