Obituary of Sue L. Green

Funeral services for Sue L. Green, age 92, of Newell will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 2:00 PM atPine Hill Christian Church with Bro. Scott Blake officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023.  Mrs. Green will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mrs. Green passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Clay County Hospital in Ashland.

Survivors include: three sons, Donald Green (Becky) and Ronald Green (Kathy), both of Ranburne and Marc Green (Sarah) of Newell; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cole Hembree, Matt Deese, Heath Green, Allen Hembree, Seth McAdams, and Hunter McAdams.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Green was born in Anniston, Alabama, on June 13, 1931, the daughter of Edward and London Traylor Lovvorn.  She was a member of Pine Hill Christian Church and worked as a seamstress at Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company before retiring.  She was also a member of the Woodland Community Center.  Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cleveland Green; and a daughter, Tammy Deese.
