Funeral services for Lynwood E. Milstead, age 64, of Newell will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Holcombe officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Clay County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023.

Mr. Milstead passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Milstead of Newell; one daughter, Sonja Patterson (Damon) of Mt. Zion, GA; four sons, Chad Milstead (Erin) of Newell, Gene Milstead (Kristy) of Fort Worth, TX, William Hawkins (Theresa) of Woodland, and Myke Pumadera of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Margie Hester (Ken) of Lineville; and one brother, James Milstead (Virginia) of Lineville.

Pallbearers will be Alex Renovato, Chuck Milstead, Chandler Milstead, Jason Renovato, Dillon Huddleston, and Justin Pless.

A Lineville, Alabama native, Mr. Milstead was born on December 16, 1958, the son of James Lewis and Marie Griffin Milstead.  He was Baptist by faith and was employed with Pilgrim’s Pride.  Mr. Milstead was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Kisler and Deborah Holloway; two brothers, Alvin Milstead and Bill Milstead; and a nephew, Bryan Milstead.
