Obituary of Larry Gene Richardson

Funeral services for Larry Gene Richardson, age 81, of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Donald Spradlin officiating.  Burial will follow at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 25, 2023. 

Mr. Richardson passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Richardson of Woodland; two daughters, Stacey Richardson of Woodland and Andrea Manley (Steve) of Oxford; and two grandchildren, Shay Manley and Kelly Watson.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Richardson was born on February 5, 1942, the son of James Hardy and Bernice Brown Richardson.  He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and worked as a welder for Plant Wansley before retiring.  Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Barbara Danford and Irene Cates; and four brothers, Tyrone, Tillman, Virlyn, and Benny Richardson.
