Funeral services for Lawrence (Pop) Holloway, age 93, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday December 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Leven's Baptist Church with Rev. Barrett Holloway and Rev. Terry Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-8:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Mr. Holloway will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday.
Mr. Holloway passed away Friday December 12, 2014, at his residence.
Survivors include two daughters, Annette Holloway of Wedowee and Connie Holloway of Wedowee; one son, Larry Holloway (wife, Wyneise) of Wedowee; two grandchildren, Kim Watkins and Kristy Cooper; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Bryant of Roanoke and Dinah Ramsey of Georgia; and one brother, Forrest Pete Holloway of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Tim Holloway, Aaron Ford, Joel Scarbary, Scott Holloway, Chris Holloway, Matthew Brown, and Ryan Addison.
A Randolph County native, Mr. Holloway was born on November 11, 1921, the son of McKinley and Eula Young Holloway. He was a member of Leven's Baptist Church and was employed by Southwire. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army. Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winnie L. Holloway; two children, Phillip and Wayne; three sisters; and one brother.
