Funeral services for Rex Wallace Ballinger, 76, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 1:00 PM from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Mike Nobbley officiating. Entombment will follow at Forestlawn Gardens in Anniston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Mr. Ballinger passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Ballinger of Wedowee; one daughter, Natalie Steinborn of Bremen, GA; two sons, Richard Ballinger of Pensacola, FL, and Patrick Ballinger of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Fonda Powers of Hamburg, IA, and Martha Harris of Glenwood, IA.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
An Iowa native, Mr. Ballinger was born on November 5, 1939, the son of Roy and Lucille Earl Ballinger. He was a United States Army Veteran and was a retired United States Postal Service Postmaster. Mr. Ballinger was preceded in death by his parents.
