So crazy how the internet can connect people across the boundaries of culture and across the world. I am a Hip Hop musician/Artist & fan. Kodak Black is a HUGE household name in my world. He posted a video of a grey headed man GETTING BUSY DANCING to one of his songs. I looked in the comments and someone actually pointed out that his name was Paul Shelnut and that he had unfortunately passed away at the point of me reading. I don’t even know if the man really knew how VIRAL a lot of his dancing videos were. I recently lost my fiancé of 10 years abruptly. So, as I don’t know the family. I share your pain but I send and share positive spirts of joy and remembering Mr Shelnut. May he rest in peace & May the family find comfort.

I wish he knew the smiles he put on mine and my mother's face the nights I sat with her. No longer able to travel around in the areas where mountain music and home cooked meals could be found, i came across Paul on YouTube as I searched for bluegrass and flatfooting and we truly enjoyed watching him. Wished we could have met him. I am sure he was a good man who touched many lives.. I will always be thankful for the joy he gave us. Thoughts and prayers I send to his family....from Franklin Co.VA

I am not sure I ever had a conversation with Mr. Shellnut, but I will always have fond memories of his dancing. It was always a treat to be playing fiddle and have him dance to my music. I will miss seeing him at Bear on the Square and other festivals where I was lucky enough to enjoy the wonderful accompaniment of his feet and his playful spirit. Sending prayers to his family and loved ones.

Almost all of my memories of Paul were of him dancing in mismatched socks. In fact the earliest memory I have of him is him dancing in the street in Woodland. My condolences to his family, he is fondly remembered.
