We will miss you so much BB!! I will miss running into you at Auburn Football Games in the fall. War Eagle!!!! I guess the last time I saw you was at an Auburn Football Game. I planted a tree for you, and I said you meant the world to EMS, especially in Alabama. I still have your book. I am sorry I did not know your health had taken a turn for the worst. I should have made more of an effort to come see you!! May you rest in peace!! Love, Earl Langley!!

It is with a heavy heart that I have just learned of Brenda's passing. Brenda was always a beacon of light and touched all who she came in contact with. Her beautiful smile and wonderful attitude of love and compassion was evident throughout her life. We have always been so proud of Brenda's work in the field of medicine and even more in her kindness that she extended, not only to those in need, but to all she met. Her love of the Auburn Tigers and her unbridled enthusiasm for them made all around her join in her "War Eagle" battle cry. Brenda will be missed by so many but will still live on in the hearts of all who love her. Her legacy will never die. To borrow the words of Leo Buscaglia:
“I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories.”
We love you Brenda…. Enjoy your heavenly reunions!

I went to SUSCC when it was called Opelika Tech. It was there I met and came to admire BJ. She was the best teacher, encourager, supporter to all her students and more to a blessed few who got to know her well enough to come to love her. She believed in you when you couldn't believe in yourself. She kept you going and wouldn't allow you to give up. She was one of the most genuinely caring and thoughtful people I've ever known. I hate that I lost contact over the last few years and that I didnt pursue reaching out to her before she was gone. I truly loved her. She was the kind of person who made you feel like you were her own.

Brenda meant a lot to me. She was the light that got me through my wife's illness and death. We served together on EMS committees and worked together. I remember our trip to Seattle very fondly and will greatly miss her. Godspeed my friend. Blessings to each family member for sharing her with each of us.

Ms. Brenda was a blessing to so many, including myself & my daddy! He worked with her at SU, and Robert Erwin thought that she was one of the best ladies around! She was one of his best friend's, and he thought the world of her! I did as well! When my daddy came to live with me due to health issues, sweet Ms. Brenda & Mrs. Jackie checked on him weekly. It brought such comfort to him to know that they cared (as well as others from Wadley & SU). Likewise, it meant the world to me too! I'm so sorry for the loss that her family & friend's are feeling! You all are in my thoughts & prayers!

BJ touched millions of lives! Public Safety lost a treasure that can never be replaced. She loved her student’s and patients like they were family. She expected her babies to give 110% so she’s gave 111%. I was blessed to have been taught to be an EMT & Paramedic by BJ, worked in the trenches with BJ but most importantly to have been taught to show respect to everyone I came in contact with “just like it was my mother” she said countless times! She gave her living room floor for study sessions to the early morning hours. She kicked our butt when we screwed up! But she loved each one of her babies and when we were hurting due to our profession she held us close. Heaven gained a true Angel of Mercy! Take a break BJ! We got it! Until we meet again.
