Ray Horton was my stepfather but I loved him as my dad. He was good tender hearted man. He was very good to my mom and very good to me. Most of all, he was good to everyone. I love you and will miss you always.

The love that Ray had for Diane was amazing. He took care of her when she was sick and she took care of him. I loved the way he always called her "sugar". Krista and I were there when they married and they were there when both of my children and grandchild was born.
He will be missed by all,

My Grandaddy Ray was an amazing man. Always loving and sweet. I've never seen him angry to be honest. Though I don't remember the wedding, as I was far too young, I do remember my grandfather very well. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was the most caring man I've ever met it seems. God brought an amazing Husband, Son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and many other roles my grandfather played, home. I know he is looking down on all of us and smiling. Aubree and I love you Grandaddy Ray! We will miss you so much.

Our love and sincere sympathy goes out to Diane, Tina, Kim and the entire Horton family. They say time heals but to me, it is not time or the material things we leave behind, it's the love and memories. Ray was a wonderful husband, father and friend. He loved his family, friends and a good time. The memories we shared in Ft. Payne, the June Jam and on Lake Wedowee will always be close in our heart.
We are thankful for your God given friendship and the fun that we shared. We can still remember Ray saying, "are we having fun yet"? Well buddy, yes...we will always remember the wonderful memories and love you left behind. We will always love you!

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
Grand Daddy Ray welcomed me into his family with open arms when I married his grandson, Nick Winkles in 2003. I feel so blessed to have so many wonderful memories of him, I will cherish them forever. He was truly one of the best men I've had the privilege of knowing. He will be terribly missed.
Forever in our hearts, NEVER forgotton <3

Ray has been gone for some time now but is still as missed as he was in the beginning. I hunted and fished with him and was a lake neighbor, I will remember his laugh and the good times.
